Cookie Sale

2009/08/23 @ 5:46 pm

Hi girls,

the cookie project is now on, please gather as many orders as possible. I have attached part of the email sent by guide house...please note that there's a new flavor, chocolate crunch.

When you take the orders for the project, please use the template that I will be providing you with. Each tin will be sold for $10. Please do try for as many tins as possible. Those who sell 5 or more will get a fun patch. In addition, this year they have added on a monetary incentive for companies who sell a remarkable amount of cookies. Please scroll down to take a look later on.

GIRL GUIDE COOKIE PROJECT 2009

This year’s cookie sale is special and exciting. We are launching a new cookie flavour and a fresh set of cookie tin designs. The new flavour "Chocolate Crunch" is a delicious chocolate cookie made with cornflakes and chocolate chips, without cream.

The cookie project is not only a fun way to support guiding activities and programmes, it also teaches useful skills in our girls, like confidence, entrepreneurship and money management.

On an individual basis, all girls who sell 5 or more tins will be eligible for a Fun Patch. In addition, we will continue with the financial incentive system for Brownies and Guides to support their own school units. This is how it works – there will be no incentives offered for the first 5 tins sold by each Brownie, Guide or Guider. For the 6th to 10th tin sold on a per person basis, the commission will be 50 cents per tin. For the 11th tin onwards, the commission will be $1.00 per tin. In other words, the more you and your girls sell the more you will earn for your unit! Please note that commissions will be paid out to a company only when a minimum of $10.00 is earned in aggregate for administrative reasons.

The incentive scheme is also applicable when your girls sign up to help out in the public sale of our cookies at various shopping malls. We will let you know the details in due course and look forward to your response and participation!

The three flavours of Chocolate Cream, Chocolate Mint and Chocolate Crunch will each retail for $10, inclusive of GST. This is in response to feedback to facilitate collection of monies. The new Chocolate Crunch flavour will have 12 packets of cookies wrapped in foil, with each packet holding two cookies. The former macadamia nut flavour is no longer available as the manufacturer is not able to get a reliable supplier of the ingredients for the flavour.

Delivery to schools can be made for a minimum order of 8 cartons (48 tins). Please indicate in the order form your preferred delivery schedule and liaise with Esther Ling (Tel: 6259 9391), fax: 6259 5452, at our office if you have any questions.

Youth Olympics Education

2009/07/12 @ 9:35 pm

Hi girls,

As spoken to the sec 2 and 3 girls regarding the volunteer work at the Youth Olympics Education, I would like to know how many of you may still end up continuing with the volunteering? You girls may want to consider this your long term CIP project till the whole Youth Olympics end. Even the sec one girls may want to join in. Remember that if you fulfill a certain amount of hours, you get either bronze, silver or gold for CIP, if I am not wrong...

Of course, it would be the best if you girls truly want to volunteer for it and not do it for the sake of doing it. Do let me know. The blog is a good medium for me to garner and disseminate information pertaining to guides.

CCA is still suspended for now. Like what Nika said, if you have any kind of certifcates for me to gain any kinds of point, do pass it to Nika who will then pass it to me.

Thanks,
Miss Tan.
